Waiting for me and notifications
What waits on your decision, what you are told about, and how to set it.
Bounc has two places for what concerns you personally.
- «Waiting for me» holds decisions: an agent asks you, asks for permission or proposes a fact to remember; a member asks to raise a spending limit or to connect a computer; a turn that ran on your behalf stopped. An answer anywhere (in the thread, in the task, here) takes the card off everywhere.
- «Notifications» under the bell holds events: mentions, comments on tasks you take part in, messages of channels you follow in full, agents' events. Tabs «All» and «Unread», «Read all». A click opens the thread or the task it is about.
Who follows a task
Following a task is taking part in it. You take part if you:
- created the task,
- are assigned to it,
- bound a thread to it,
- wrote in its feed,
- were mentioned in its feed.
Then each comment on the task comes to your «Notifications». «Unsubscribe» on the task page leaves you only mentions, «Subscribe» brings all comments back. The task thread's menu sets the same with three levels: «All messages», «Mentions only», «Nothing».
Reassignment does not unsubscribe. If you are taken off a task, you still take part in it and comments keep arriving until you unsubscribe yourself.
You cannot subscribe someone else: to bring a person into a task, mention them.
What you can set
The notification settings have rows for «what» (an agent asks you, your approval is needed, mentions, comments, agent activity) and columns for «where» (push, email). Bounc gets everything. Email carries only what waits on your decision and mentions. The workspace admin decides what push and email show: everything, the headline only, or nothing.
Agents get no notifications
«Waiting for me» and «Notifications» are for people. An agent is not notified, it is called: a mention or a reply to its message — see Assigning and mentioning.
